Although I like my Nikon very much, and I love the way it makes everything easy to tweak, I am considering jumping over to Canon. Why? Because I the 5d offers me a very large CMOS sensor for high quality images, considerably less noise on longer (5+ minutes) exposures, and no need to buy two sets of lenses if I want to continue shooting film (and there are some considerable incentives to continue shooting film). The image at right is one from my Nikon. Great for stuff in the 30 second rage. Not too great for large enlargements.The reason this all matters is because I am primarily interested in night photography. Long exposures are king in that field, unless I am shooting hand held, in which case I need speed, more speed than digital affords.
